Add Google Analytics Tracking

Integrate Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager with Tilma. Follow our step-by-step guide for seamless data collection and tracking.

Tilma supports Google Analytics data collection. As long as you have a Google Analytics 4 property, it's easy to start collecting data through Tilma.

You'll need either a Google Analytics 4 or Google Tag Manager tracking code to get started. You can also add both.

Steps to Integrate GA4 with Tilma

  1. Sign in to Google Analytics

    • Navigate to your Google Analytics account and log in.

  2. Navigate to the Correct Property

    • Ensure you're in the correct GA4 property.

  3. Copy Your Tracking ID

    • Find your GA4 Tracking ID. If unsure, refer to GA4 Tracking ID support. The ID will begin with "G-" or "GT-". Copy the entire code to your clipboard.

  4. Add Your Tracking ID to Tilma

    • Open your Tilma site and navigate to Site Settings.

    • Select Org Details and scroll to the bottom.

    • In the Analytics section, paste your Tracking ID into the Google Analytics Tracking ID field.

    • Scroll down and click the Save button.

  5. Check Google Analytics for Data

    • Navigate to the homepage of your Tilma site.

    • Open your Google Analytics Property in a new tab.

    • Go to Reports > Realtime view.

    • You should be able to see your own session.

Note: It can take up to 30 minutes for data collection to start flowing into GA4. If you don't immediately see data, check back later.

Steps to Integrate Google Tag Manager with Tilma

  1. Sign in to Google Tag Manager

  2. Copy Your Container ID

    • Find your Google Tag Manager Container ID. It will begin with "GTM-". Copy this ID to your clipboard.

  3. Add Your Container ID to Tilma

    • Open your Tilma site and navigate to Site Settings.

    • Select Org Details and scroll to the bottom.

    • In the Analytics section, paste your Container ID into the Google Tag Manager Container ID field.

    • Scroll down and click the Save button.

  4. Check Google Tag Manager for Data

    • Navigate to the homepage of your Tilma site.

    • Open your Google Tag Manager account in a new tab.

    • Ensure your tags are firing correctly by checking the Preview mode.

Note: It may take a few minutes for data to start flowing into Google Tag Manager. If you don't immediately see data, check back later.
