What are Announcements?
Announcements display in the Feature Article / Announcements section on the Homepage. They are meant to contain important information that will be seen by everyone who comes to your site. You can also click on the "View More" button to view all announcements on the Announcements page.
How to add announcements to your parish site
In the main side navigation, click on "Content" and then click on "Announcements".
Click the "New" button to add a new Announcement, or click an existing Announcement to edit.
In this view, you can also see when an announcement was initially published, which announcement is "pinned," and an ellipsis menu that gives you options to delete or preview an announcement.
Add a short Title and Teaser, and then upload an image. The teaser text will display under the Title on your homepage, so you want to make sure this language is clear and concise.

Published and Unpublished Dates
The "Published at" (aka: Start Date) and "Unpublished at" (aka: End Date) determines when the announcement will be live on your website. Announcements always need a start date but do not require an end date if you want your announcement to be live indefinitely. Choose an end date when you know you want an announcement to no longer be live.
If you want your announcement to redirect to an external website or another page within your site, fill in the Link URL field. People clicking on an announcement with a URL set in this field will be immediately directed to that link.
Otherwise, leave this field blank and click on the Editor tab at the top of the page to enter your announcement content -- see the Editor Tab section below.
Pinning an Announcement
You can pin one announcement at a time to a special spot just below the main navigation on the homepage.
To pin an announcement, check the box. This will set the announcement to appear in the pinned spot. A new pinned item will unpin any previously pinned announcements.
Add your more detailed information in the “Add content here...” page body area.
Just as you can in Pages, Resources, Ministries and other content types, you can add:
- Bullet points
- Horizontal lines
- Content Blocks
- HTML code

Publish or Update
Once you have completed drafting your announcement, click the "Publish" button (or the Update button if you are making subsequent edits) and check the homepage to make sure it looks as you intended.
