Post a Homily

Learn how to create and publish a homily in Tilma, including adding titles, categories, and entering text in the editor.

Posting a homily on Tilma is simple and straightforward. Follow these steps to get started:

Steps to Create a New Resource or Homily

  1. Access Resources

    • In the side navigation, click on Content.

    • Select Resources.

  2. Create a Homily

    • Hover over the v arrow next to New Resource.

    • Click New Homily.

  3. Fill Out Settings

    • Add a Title.

    • Select a Main Category.

    • Note: All other fields are optional.

  4. Add Your Content

    • Click on the Editor tab at the top of the page.

    • Enter your homily text, or paste it from another source.

  5. Publish Your Work

    • Once finished, click Publish in the upper right corner.

Homily Settings

These settings determine how the page is displayed.

  • Title: Edit the page name.

  • Custom Page URL: Set the page URL here.

  • Image: Set a featured image for the page top.

  • Hidden Resource: Hides your resource from Tilma's search.

  • Publish / Unpublish Date: Determines when your resource will be published/unpublished for site visitors.

  • Content Type: Choose from text, video, audio, gallery, infographic, or book recommendation.

Attributes

Set up the Tags for your content.

  • Author: Choose an existing author, or create a new one

  • Content Provider: If your resource comes from a content provider (such as Ascension Presents), add them here.

  • Main Category: Choose from a list of Main Categories. This field is required to publish your article.

  • Tilma Canonical Categories: Choose from a longer list of additional categories.

SEO / Social Settings

Set or modify the page information for browsers, search engines, and social media.

  • Browser Title: Modify the title appearing in a browser tab.

  • Canonical URL: Use if the page is a copy of another page (from any website) to improve search health.

  • Search Keywords: Write keywords for search, separated by commas.

  • Meta Description: Describe the page for search results, using key search words.

  • Social Media Description: Customize the description for social media shares.

  • Social Media Image: Upload a different image for social media.

Editor

Add Content

Add content to your page. Once done, click Publish or Save Draft & Exit.
