Editing Content in Tilma

Learn how to create and edit content in Tilma with tools for text, photos, and videos. Follow easy steps to publish or update.

Whether you're creating or editing Pages, Emails, Ministries, Announcements, Events, Schools, or Resources, Tilma provides all the tools you need to format and edit text, photos, and videos.

Editing Existing Text

  • Simply click on a section and start making changes. The "live page editor" tool lets you see exactly what will be displayed on the live site once your content is published or updated.

Quick Insert Tool

  • To access the quick insert tool, click at the end of a line and press enter. You will see a + sign, called the Quick Insert Tool, and a flashing cursor.

  • Click the + icon to insert:

    • Photos: Add images, captions, and alt text.

    • Videos: Embed YouTube or Vimeo videos, fully responsive on mobile.

    • Ordered List: Create a numbered list.

    • Bullet Points: Create an unordered list.

    • Horizontal Lines: Separate sections with a full-width line.

    • Forms: Insert forms created in the Forms tool.

    • Content Block: Link to other content in your site with attractive cards.

    • HTML Block: Embed raw HTML code from third-party apps. Note that some HTML may not be accepted for security reasons

    • Button Insert: Add buttons and customize the link.

    • Accordion: Insert collapsible sections for condensing large amounts of content.


Formatting Tool

  • Highlight text to access formatting options:

    • Bold: Make text bold.

    • Italicized: Make text italic.

    • Paragraph or Heading Styles: Choose normal, Heading 1, Heading 2, or Heading 3.

    • Ordered List: Create a numbered list, with options like letters or roman numerals.

    • Bullet Points: Create an unordered list, with options like empty circles or squares.

    • Link to URLs or Files: Link text to another page, website, or file.

    • Emojis: Replace text with an emoticon.

    • Block-Quotes: Format text as a block-quote.

    • Left Aligned: Align text to the left.

    • Center Aligned: Align text to the center.

Publish, Update or Save as Draft.

  • When you're finished, click the Publish button (for new content) or the Update/Save As Draft button (for existing content) at the top of the screen.
